We're all really excited to see a new room coming together on Imagine Chat - one that's not only science fiction, but of one dealing with a new universe... Mass Effect! That said, we'd just like to take the time to reiterate the following:
- This is a Mass Effect Room. There will be no Battlestar Galactica/Star Trek/Star Wars/Serenity/insert other show here characters. We do not plan on doing crossovers with any of these universes.
- Because this is a Mass Effect Room, we ask all players to keep to the tone/power levels established by the game. If you want to have phenomenal cosmic powers, more power to you, but you'll have to find another room. Mass Effect is a blend of Hard Sci Fi and Space Opera, so please remember that when submitting your characters. On that note...
- No anime characters. Anime varies wildly from not just episode to episode in tone/quality, but even more so between other anime series and furthermore with more Western sensibilities. Nothing against Anime, it's just not appropriate here.
- No minors. Not just for legal reasons, but for tone and content reasons as well... kids shouldn't be playing in an online chat room unless the site specifically permits them to do so. We don't, and Imagine Chat (our host site) doesn't.
- No kid characters. Sorry, Wesley Crusher hopefuls - kid geniuses are not realistic and generally break tone... not to mention Imagine Chat doesn't permit underage players OR characters.
- The two aforementioned rules means NO cyber babies, either.
- No established Mass Effect Characters. No ties to Mass Effect characters. (i.e. no Shepherd clones, etc) You may work your character into the universe's lore to a certain extent, but approval will be on a case by case basis.
- Certain classes are restricted for a reason. Spectres and Krogan Battlemasters are not a dime-a-dozen. They are highly trained specialists who wield great authority/martial prowess. They are not to be treated or thrown into the room lightly. Do not expect to become a spectre. Chances are, you and the people hoping for it won't.
- Think SMALL. The room is restricted to Echo Base, and surrounding planets. This doesn't mean there won't be rp other places in the future, but a galaxy of adventure means a room full of solo RP. For that reason, we ask you to play in the "common area" provided the majority of the time. Otherwise, no one will ever run into each other.
- Please remember to follow the sample character sheet guide when submitting your character. We understand you may be excited to play, but taking the time to fill out the sheet properly (all stats, all talents, etc) will mean you get to play that much sooner. Skipping FASERIP, talents, etc will result in a delay in the approval process.
- We do not enforce "posting order" or "model registration" for avatars... we don't believe in those sorts of things. However, we ask you DO be reasonable when playing and not to grief other players. Play nice, in other words.
- If you have a question, ask.
- And most importantly, HAVE FUN!
